Release Notes - Version 5.1


Below, an overview is provided of the improvements that have been included in version 5.1 of the Alignability® Process Model. Minor changes (e.g. improvements of the layout or spelling corrections) are not listed.

Description of Improvement

General

1.

Adjusted the layout of the forms to ensure that they are presented properly in the web client.

2.

Added steps to disable the Recordlist option to the Configuration Instruction Sheet.doc for the ServiceCenter Full Client as well as the ServiceCenter Web Client.

3.

Ensured that completed records are not listed in the To Do Overviews. Support requests and problems with the status "Change Pending" are also not displayed in any To Do Overview.

4.

Removed the restriction to 8 characters from the Code (location.code) field of the Site (al.location.g) form.

5.

Added the chart.breakdown capability to every operator record in the ITIL® Game database.

6.

Ensured that only the Configuration Manager and the Service Level Administrator roles are able to register new Organization records.

7.

Ensured that only system administrators and data administrators are able to delete Site records.

8.

Improved the service hours calculation in the Availability Tracking Overview_Example.xls.

Configuration Management

9.

Changed the Fill button at the right of the Administrator field on the Configuration Item form to a dropdown list to ensure that a group can be selected using the HP OpenView ServiceCenter 6.2 web client.

10.

Ensured that the Configuration Item search pop-up screen (al.device.search.g) gets displayed in a way that all fields and field labels on the screen are visible.

11.

Added the Lease contract # field to the Configuration Item form. This field has been placed above the Lease notice date field.

12.

Changed the label of the Lease notice field of the Configuration Item form to "Lease notice date".

13.

Changed the label of the Lease expiry field of the Configuration Item form to "Lease expiry date".

14.

Changed the Administrator field label of the Configuration Item form to "Administrator group".

15.

Renamed the header in the Parent CI array of the Configuration Item form to "Parent CIs".

16.

Renamed the header in the Component CI array of the Configuration Item form to "Component CIs".

Incident Management

17.

Ensured that the "N/A - Service does not (yet) exist or is out of scope" service does not get listed when the Find button (or F8) is used and a service is already selected in the Service (al.service) field of the Support Request (al.SM.update.sr.g and al.SM.update.sr.g) form. Also ensure that the message "A valid Customer must be selected first" does not get displayed when the Find button (or F8) is used for the Service field.

18.

Ensured that after a support request has been opened from a support request record list and only the Time spent (min) field of this support request is updated and the Next button is subsequently pressed to go to the next record, that the Cumulative effort(min) and Cost of effort field are actually updated.

19.

Ensured that after a support request has been opened from a support request record list and (for example) the Information update and Time spent (min) fields are updated, and the Previous or Next button is used to open another support request, the user does not get prompted multiple times to save the changes.

20.

Added an automated numbering sequence for the Support Request Template form, and ensured that the Number field of this form is read-only. The format of the numbering sequence is SRTxxxx.

21.

Ensured that it is possible to select a service in the Service field of the support request search (SM.search.g) form, rather then receiving the message "A valid Customer must be selected first".

22.

Changed the Fill button at the right of the Group field on the Support Request form to a dropdown list to ensure that a group can be selected using the HP OpenView ServiceCenter 6.2 web client.

Added the Group and Status columns to the Support Request Template record list.

Problem Management

24.

Ensured that it is no longer possible to save a problem without any text in its Description field.

25.

Ensured that the Group and Member fields of the Problem form become required at the right status levels.

26.

Ensured that only the Problem Manager role is able to modify the value in the Planned effort (min.) field of the Problem form.

27.

Corrected the field utilization guideline and help text for the Planned effort (min.) field of the Problem form. This was necessary because this field is not filled out automatically by any template.

28.

Changed the Fill button at the right of the Group field on the Problem form to a dropdown list to ensure that a group can be selected using the HP OpenView ServiceCenter 6.2 web client.

Change Management

29.

Ensured that it is not possible to save a change with the status "Completed" if all its work orders are not yet set to the status "Completed", "Failed" or "Cancelled". Also ensured that once a change has been set to the status "Completed", its work orders cannot be reopened.

30.

Ensured that the Result field is also required when the Status field of the Work Order form is set to "Completed" and the Category field is set to "Risk & Impact".

Adjusted the Reason field options of the Change and Change Template forms to:

The reference to "Infrastructure" and "Service" has been removed to simplify the options. The option "Maintenance" has been added.

Ensured that the Coordinator and Service fields of the Change form are not set to NULL after a change template has been selected.

Added the Work Order formís Downtime field options "12 Hours" and "16 Hours".

Ensured that the Affected Organizations field can be selected for the work order record lists when the "Modify Columns" option is selected.

Added an automated numbering sequence for the Work Order Template form, and ensured that the Number field of this form is read-only. The format of the numbering sequence is WOTxxxx.

Ensured that an error is no longer generated when a new change, which was based on change template CHT0001, is saved.

Release Management

Ensured that the Target date field of the Release form is required when the status is "To Be Approved" or higher.

Service Level Management

41.

Changed the Fill button at the right of the Group field on the Service form to a dropdown list to ensure that a group can be selected using the HP OpenView ServiceCenter 6.2 web client.

Renamed the Organization Category field option "Organization" to "Affiliate" to avoid confusion with the name of the entity.
